The Thermopolis Community Fund Christmas Tree Festival is happening soon. Red Rock Family Practice and the Wyoming Dinosaur Center will host the event on December 3, 2015 at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. with the auction to follow at 6:15 p.m. There will be 17 trees and 13 wreaths to be auctioned. All proceeds will go into the Thermopolis Community Fund. People for People will be serving a hot Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday, Nov. 26 at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall from noon until 3 p.m. A Thanksgiving Dinner will be delivered to the homebound on Thursday starting at 11 a.m. If you would like to receive a delivered meal, or if you want to help deliver meals, call Ann Pederson at 864-4240. The Hot Springs County High School’s Bobcat speech and debate team kicked off their season Nov. 2. While the team will not be traveling to tournaments until January, coach Cindy Glasson said the next few weeks will be spent choosing pieces for interpretation and writing cases for debaters. Bill Sniffin will be holding a book signing at Storyteller Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. Sniffin recently published the final book in his Wyoming Trilogy, “Wyoming at 125: Our Place in the West.” The book features over 50 historic black and white Wyoming photos turned into modern-looking four-color images. A clothing drive is planned for Dec. 16 and 17 in the commons of Hot Springs County High School. The clothing drive has been set up for people to donate their clean, gently used clothing before Dec. 10. On Dec. 16 and 17 anyone can come to the commons and pick out clothes for themselves from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can pick up clothing even if you have not donated clothes.
