    Last week was plenty busy, with both the annual Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo and the People of the Earth happening. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Meri Ann Rush said the rodeo had excellent performances each evening - Friday and Saturday - and there were about 50 more participants than past years. She also heard comments that people enjoyed the stock; this year saw a partnership with Powder River Rodeo, which has some of the top bucking stock at the National Finals Rodeo. Those... Full story

    Gottsche is planning a Water Kickball Tournament throughout the month of July in Hot Springs State Park. The tournament is scheduled Thursday nights July 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 6-8 p.m. For a team of 5-7 people cost is $100 for all four nights. Drop-ins are $5 each.     The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) Rodeo hits town on June 24-25. There are 197 entrants, and that may go up with re-entries. Gayla Mead-Ellis explained when entrants put in their information a computer selects which events they will compete. If there is a scheduling conflict, cowboys will go in and re-enter.     Hot Springs County 4-H members attended shooting sports camp at the H Diamond W camp on Grass Creek Friday through Sunday. Participants learned about archery, muzzleloaders, shotguns, .22 pistols, air pistols and air rifles.
