Get ready for an evening filled with a variety of entertainment this Saturday as the Encore Talent Show comes to the auditorium. Starting at 6 p.m. there will be students from across the Big Horn Basin showing off their talents in three categories, elementary, middle school and high school. Ralph Witters Elementary will host its Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2018-19 school year on Thursday, April 5 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the school library. The top three from the Thermopolis Middle School spelling bee on March 2 — Josiah Butler first, Hayden Mayne second and Madeline Wagler third — traveled to Rock Springs last week to compete in the Wyoming State Spelling Bee. The state competition includes a 75-word written preliminary round and 27 rounds of oral competition. There were about 60 total participants, and after the first round they took the top 33 for the oral round. Red Rock maintained its winning streak on March 21, in the eighth week of games for the Hot Springs County Rec District Adult Basketball League. The team had a 69-43 victory against Hoosier Daddy, bringing their record to 8-0 for the season. Hoosier’s record is now 1-7.
