Brost spent most of his childhood in Thermopolis, and the town is home to his mother and stepfather, Janice and Gary Otheiser, and his father and stepmother, Jay and Diana Brost. On Saturday, September 7, the second annual Plein-Air Thermopolis will be hosted in Hot Springs State Park with more than 20 artists from the Big Horn Basin and as far away as Colorado, painting on location in the park. The all day event will begin at 9 a.m. and end with a free public reception from 2 -4 p.m where the art created that day will be judged and awards given. The Community Federated Church is celebrating Ellen Mortimore's 50-plus years of service. She will be stepping down as the church's music director and Chancel Choir director, handing the baton to Pastor Ross Kershaw.
