The Hometown Holiday event kicks of on Nov. 26, with many stores opening for early shopping at 8 a.m. as part of the Shop Small campaign.     The Jolly old Elf is just around the corner and so is the Annual Thermopolis Festival of Trees, Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center. Everyone is invited to come have dinner at 6 p.m. and then remain for the auction that begins at 6:30. Those who have reserved trees may begin decorating Monday, Nov. 28, but must be finished by Nov. 30.     Everyone is scurrying around, gathering your gifts for loved ones both near and far, but if you’re mailing out those precious packages, you need to know what the deadlines are for getting them around the tree on time.     Whether you’re all alone for Thanksgiving or just don’t feel like cooking, you are invited to the free Thanksgiving dinner at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Sponsored by People for People and the Episcopal Church Women, dinner will include turkey, stuffing and all the salads and other goodies traditional Thanksgiving meals have.     Community members packed into the VFW Saturday evening for the dinner and auction which raised over $22,000 to benefit Shannon Myers. One of the many highlights of the night was when a saw, hand painted by Cindy Clancy, was purchased by Joe Arnold for $1,025. He donated the saw back to be auctioned off again.
