    At Tuesday’s meeting of the Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, the board officially accepted the budget for the fiscal year 2018-2019. However, Carl Leyba voted “no” to the motion, and indicated there were some cuts and he was uncomfortable with some areas of the budget at this point.     The Risen Son Christian School would like to invite everyone to attend their Spaghetti feed, auction, book sale and chicken poop shoot fundraiser this Friday, April 20.   • Residents have 30 days to appeal tax notices

    Tax notices for Hot Springs County residents were mailed out on April 11 and residents have 30 days to examine the notice and make any appeals to the Hot Springs County Assessor’s office. If you did not receive your tax notice, they are available online through the county’s website by clicking on the assessor tab in the upper left hand corner. Veterans and widows of veterans should check to ensure they are signed up for the veteran’s exemption.   • CRC hosts children's trike-a-thon Saturday

    In honor of the Week of the Young Child, the Children’s Resource Center will be holding a trike-a-thon this Saturday morning. Starting at 10 a.m. on April 21 at the pavillion in the State Park, children can come and ride their tricycles. Some youngsters have been getting pledges for riding and all proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Children do not have to get pledges in order to come join in the fun.     Tuesday afternoon, Debbie Disney and Christine Hill with Timberline Hospitalities presented training on how to keep things simple when it comes to hospitality, service and sales. The duo started things off with having everyone introduce themselves, then got the group up for a bit of exercise. Everyone was asked to see how high they could jump and stick a note to the wall.     According to information from the State of Wyoming, Economic Analysis Division, Wyoming experienced a 2.3 percent increase in annual (All Items) inflation from the fourth quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2017.
