    The Hot Springs County Weed & Pest and University of Wyoming Extension Service will be conducting a Private Applicator Training on Tuesday, March 14 beginning at 9 a.m. at the weed and pest office, 711 Springview St. The training is for individuals that require a pesticide applicator certification in order to purchase and use restricted pesticides.     The Hot Springs Democratic Committee met on March 1 at the Hot Springs County Annex. The meeting was well attended by local members of the Democratic Party with the addition of two special speakers. The focus of the meeting was to elect new officers, to start to plan to revise or replace the by-laws and to get an update of events on the state and national level.     Although they will not be moving on to the State Tournament, the Lady Cats finished their season with great heart and a ton of effort at the Regional Tournament in Buffalo last weekend. The girls took on Douglas in their first game on Thursday, a team they were eager to meet again after a horrible loss to them just a few short weeks ago.     The Thermopolis Bobcats had a tough time at the 3A Regional Tournament in Buffalo last week, losing to Douglas 72-30 on Thursday, and to Rawlins 51-38 Friday. Of Douglas, Thermopolis Coach Kevin Gerber said they went on to win regionals on our side, and they certainly showed why they were up there the whole season.     Six Bobcat wrestlers finished the season with more than half of their matches ending in victory. Leading the team were Cullen Becher (40-15),Koy Myers (36-17), Austen Ireland (18-11), Jonathan Harvey (16-11), Blake Williams (14-10), and Riley Shaffer (12-11). One might expect Becher to be the Take Down Master based simply on his record and success at the state tourney. He led the team with 47 of the two point moves.
