    The Travel and Tourism Board has seen a significant increase in tax dollars during the past two months, with a $13,555.62 increase in tax money received. However, board consultant Amanda Moeller said the numbers come from an obvious source. According to Moeller, hotel booking websites have been withholding payment of tax money to the state of Wyoming for some time, but it was not explained during the April meeting exactly how long the practice was going on.     The Thermopolis USA wrestling club had 11 wrestlers compete at the Wyoming state wrestling championships this weekend. Local wrestlers competed for three days in three different style tournaments in Casper. The town is currently accepting letters of interest from community members who wish to apply.     A Thermopolis Destination Imagination team qualified for the Global Finals competition in Knoxville, Tenn. According to Jenny Davis, the Lights On Afterschool Program Coordinator, this is the first local state championship win.     The High School golf teams had their first meet last week, but early season woes kept a number of golfers from participating. “We had a lot of students on the Spanish Club trip to Costa Rica and several out of town for spring break last week,” coach Jacob Smith said.     Thermopolis FFA students returned from the 2015 Wyoming State FFA Convention in Laramie and Cheyenne this week with awards for their work.     The Thermopolis Town Council passed an ordinance on first reading that would allow for the sale of fireworks in town during designated times. According to the ordinance currently being reviewed, sale of fireworks would be allowed by a licensed retailer for no more than 14 consecutive days around the time of the 4th of July holiday and for no more than seven consecutive days during the New Years holiday.     The Hot Springs State Park Master Plan Steering Committee met last week to discuss the future of Hot Springs State Park. State parks officials say even though great progress has been made, nothing definitive has been done.     Hot Spring County’s unemployment rate slightly increased between January and February 2015, based on information from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. From January to February of this year, unemployment in the county has increased from 4.5 percent to 4.6 percent. Comparatively, from February 2014 to February of this year, unemployment in the county has decreased from 5 percent to 4.6 percent.     While March in Thermopolis usually resembles winter more than spring, this years temperatures were higher than the average. According to Chris Jones with the National Weather Service the average temperature for March this year was 43.4 degrees Fahrenheit. The average temperature is 40.2 degrees during the month of March.     The Lil' Wrangler reopened on April 2, and business has been busy. "Since we opened we've been busier than I expected to be," manager Kim Harvey said.
