Hot Springs County unemployment rate at 4.6 percent

Hot Spring County’s unemployment rate slightly increased between January and February 2015, based on information from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

From January to February of this year, unemployment in the county has increased from 4.5 percent to 4.6 percent.

Comparatively, from February 2014 to February of this year, unemployment in the county has decreased from 5 percent to 4.6 percent.

That percentage change directly correlates to a decrease in the total number of people in the county.

From February last year to February this year, 75 jobs left Hot Springs, decreasing from 2,388 to 2,313. The number of unemployed residents decreased from 127 to 112.

Hot Springs County’s unemployment rate was equal to the statewide average of 4.6 percent in February.

The nationwide unemployment rate decreased from 7 percent to 5.8 percent from February 2014 to February 2015.
