    Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Beatriz Schulmeister had plenty of positive comments for Kayla Connor, who was involved in a single-vehicle rollover Sunday, as the 20-year-old Thermopolis resident was wearing her seatbelt during the accident. Cunningham was officially sworn in June 7, though his first day with the Thermopolis Police Department was May 23. Born and raised in Riverton, Cunningham moved away to Kemmerer and later attended college at Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice.     On Saturday, June 11, Hot Springs County High School graduates KinDale Andreen and Tyler Cornwell participated in the 43rd annual Shrine Bowl.     The banners are up, and it’s just over a week before the Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) Rodeo hits town. This year’s rodeo is June 23-26.     Tuesday night, the Thermopolis Town Council approved a street closure for the Gift of the Waters parade. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Meri Ann Rush explained the closure would be the same as previous years, from Senior Avenue, up Arapahoe until Fifth, then to the flagpole and turning around in the intersection and heading east along Broadway to Fourth.     Rosalee Dawn Johnson of Aurora, Colo. was transferred to the Wyoming Women's Correctional Center near Lusk, following her sentencing in May. In March, Johnson pleaded guilty to theft and wrongful receiving, concealing or disposing of property. The state moved to dismiss a second count of the latter charge, and the court granted it.     Seventh grader Logan Cole shattered a nearly 40-year-old record in the Long Jump this school year, with a distance of 17’ 7.75”. The previous record of 17’ 3” was set by Jon Lesher in 1977. There were quite a few records broken by the Thermopolis Middle School Track and Field, which ended their regular season on May 7.     Big Horn Basin Foundation Director Jessica Lippincott recently received $1,100 from the Thermopolis Community Fund to pay for 13 children to participate in a local Kids' Dig. The normal cost of the Kids' Dig is $85, which none of the kids had to pay for.     Tuesday evening, the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees accepted the Community Needs Assessment as presented by Marketing Director John Gibbel. According to the report, which includes all of Hot Springs County - as it is the hospital's service area - 21 percent of people do not have access to health insurance.
