    by Mark Dykes Tuesday afternoon during the meeting of the Hot Springs Travel and Tourism Board, Director Amanda Moeller reported there was a record deposit this month. “We are eight percent up over last year for this month,” Moeller said, “which actually brings us up from about 10 percent down to about four percent down for the year.” Moeller said the deposit this month was $32,068, and last year it was $29,000.     by Mark Dykes The Hot Springs County High School girls cross country team came home winners last Friday, taking first at the Absaraka Conference Meet in Douglas with 36 points, beating out second place Newcastle's 70. Other teams competing at the meet were: Douglas - 71; Worland - 84; Buffalo - 106; and Wheatland - 163. The girls also had three finishers in the top 10, with Jules Ward in first place at 20:09.56, Tahja Hunt in second at 21:31.38 and McKenna Bomengen at fourth with 21:48.50....

    by Mark Dykes Some great touchdown runs and a two-point conversion put up 14 points for the Bobcats Football team in the Friday night match against the Dogies. However, the points came late in the game, and weren't enough to match the 50 Newcastle put up in the first half. The 'Cats were able to keep on the Dogies, though, keeping them from scoring any more in the second.     An accident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. Friday, when a 2015 Z71, driven by a juvenile male subject, pulled out of the Blair's parking lot, heading north. The truck hit Colette Spain, who was on a scooter, crossing in an unmarked area. The juvenile stated he did not see Spain, who appeared to not be crossing at an intersection. According to the report, Spain had previously been cautioned about crossing outside designated areas. There were no charges filed against the driver.... Full story
