Wreck results in fatality of Texas man

Wyoming State Troopers were notified of a single vehicle rollover on Wyoming State Highway 120 near milepost 26 (Between Thermopolis and Meeteetse) at 12:45 a.m.

According to a press release, a 1996 Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line and ran off the roadway to the left (north). The driver overcorrected and slid across the lanes of travel and off the roadway to the right (south). The vehicle then became airborne and rolled multiple times. The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side. An unrestrained passenger, identified as Avery Heston, a 23-year-old male, of Texas, was partially ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Harold Colten Chlarson, 32, from Safford, Arizona was arrested and charged with alleged aggravated homicide by vehicle: DUI (felony status) and possession of a controlled substance, according to the jail roster provided by the Law Enforcement Center.
