People for People able to give worthy graduate a scholarship

The People for People Backpack Program was able to give a $500 scholarship to a Hot Springs County High School senior for the first time this year.

The People for People Backpack Program began in 2014, to help stop hunger among the youth in the Hot Springs County community. Over the last ten years, every school in Hot Springs County has been included in receiving weekly backpacks including the Learning Center and the Home Schooled.

For the last ten years, the Backpack Program has also had the privilege of watching small elementary children grow into young men and women.

The student selected to receive the scholarship this year, and in future years, received the benefit of People for People Backpack Program and/or volunteered their service to the program throughout their school years.
