DU holds winter celebration

The Wyoming State Ducks Unlimited Committee recently hosted it's 17th annual Wyoming DU winter volunteer celebration at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds.

The multi-day celebration always occurs the last week of the waterfowl season for the Central Flyway and brings in DU volunteers from across Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska and Montana to celebrate Wyoming Ducks Unlimited and the events volunteers host supporting the Ducks Unlimited mission.

Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. Additionally, several national staff attend the event, including biologists, regional directors, senior management and this year, Chief Conservation Officer, Karen Waldrop.

In addition to celebrating Wyoming's largest fundraising year ever, Wyoming celebrated more volunteers than ever and most importantly - the continuation of significant wetlands projects across our state. Wyoming DU will be hosting more than 35 events across the state and events can be found at 307du.com.
