Wyoming Discovery Days vendors can register, pay fees online

Wyoming Discovery Days will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6 in Hot Springs State Park. This popular folk festival will celebrate Wyoming’s unique cultural heritage through stories, music, food, art, livestock and demonstrations.

The festival showcases the creativity and handiwork of Wyoming’s own storytellers, artists, craftsmen, culinary artisans,  and musicians. It includes a Hear Me Now Storytelling Circle, music at the Pavilion, Fine Art and Folk Art Show, Trading Post, Folk Master Craftsmen Tent, artisan and guild demonstrations, hands-on activities for families, and a Rocky Mountain Food Court.

Big Horn Basin Nature & Discovery Center Joint Powers Board rebranded the Big Horn Basin Folk Festival into what is now Wyoming Discovery Days Folk Festival. “As always, the Story Telling Tipi is a favorite and last year a tipi was donated for the children and their families to paint!  That was a huge hit and an activity we are planning again,” said Toddi Darlington.

“We have worked in concert with the local folks of Wyoming to bring a full fun weekend with memorable interactive experiences for the whole family,” said Audra Dominguez, Festival Director.

The website, wyomingdiscoverydays.org includes easy registration and access to pay for vendor booth fees, information on how to get to the event grounds, a schedule of the two-day event, with a for the kids’ activities schedule. Craftsmen and craftswomen from around Wyoming will be added as event details continue to develop. A full schedule will be posted by July 21.

The event offers opportunities for vendors to sell their wares. A Fine Art and Folk Art show and sale will have items made of paper, clay, metal, fibers, wood, leather, and animal byproducts. Other vendor art will include paintings, photography, jewelry, and sculpture. The Trading Post will have other arts and crafts for sale. The website will help determine if your booth will be part of the fine art, folk art or trading post. Food vendors are always welcome.
