Historical Society meeting features program on volunteer fire department

The March Hot Springs County Historical Society meeting will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at the Historical Museum.

The featured program will be Thermopoils Volunteer Fire Department, over 100 years of service. Presenters are Chief Mark Collins and John Fish.

Hot Springs County covers 2,004 square miles and the local fire department is the only fire protection in our district for over 4,000 residents, who depend on the department to respond to all haz-mat, wild-land, car accidents and structure fires

The presentation will be about the colorful history of the fire department and the dedication of the volunteers.

The meeting is open to everyone and refreshments will be served.
