Bobcats fall to Tongue River in season opener

by Tatum Epperson

The Bobcats hosted the Tongue River Eagles for their first home game of the season.

Coach Matt McPhie said “It was a tough battle against a really good Tongue River team. The offense turned the ball over a couple of times and failed to execute a few critical 4th down plays. We did some good things on the offensive side; we just need to clean a few things up.”

Defensively, the Bobcats struggled to stop the big plays made by the Eagles.

Ryan Arends had 10 tackles, Chris Arends and Armani Dukes each had a hand in on 7 tackles, Roedy Farrell added 6 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Ryan Arends scored the lone touchdown for the Bobcats on a 67-yard reception from Gavin Shumway.

Tongue River took the win with the final score being 49-6.

The Bobcats face Kemmerer on the road this Friday.
