Big Horn Basin Football Camp

The Big Horn Basin Football Camp was held at the Hot Springs County High School grounds earlier this past week. Director Heath Hayes said they had 343 athletes participate and that they came from all over the region and some even from out of state. There were about 30 staff members facilitating the camp. Hayes said, "The goal is to get kids to continue improving football skills and hopefully teamwork. Most kids, they learn how to play football in camp, here they learn to love to play football." Hayes added the camp originally started in Riverton and this is the 40th year of the camp. The camp started in Thermopolis in 1990 and had multiple coaches over the years, including some from colleges such as the South Dakota School of Mines.
