The Bobcat track teams traveled to compete in the Meeteetse Invitational last Friday. They had originally planned to compete in Glenrock and Powell but had a schedule change last Wednesday.
The Bobcats saw some impressive first place finishes and a number of personal bests at the invite.
“Our athletes took advantage of the great weather Friday and we were able to come home with lots of ribbons and PR’s. We have a young team and I am proud of how they are working hard to improve every week, and are learning to compete. Our upperclassmen have done an outstanding job leading the way and setting the standard for our team,” said coach Calder Forcella.
Coach Forcella also mentioned some individual highlights from Meeteetse. Jayci Basse had a great day on the track finishing first in all four of her events. Ina King had another stellar performance in the triple jump going 33 feet 6 and half inches and prequalifying for the state meet. Dazlynn Hunt hit a big PR in the long jump that placed her first. Our boys sprinters had a great day with all of them earning PRs in the 100 meter dash.
