Bobcat track team posts a number of seasonal bests

The Bobcat track team traveled to compete in the Wheatland Invite last Friday.

“As a team, I am very proud of everyone’s performance. Our athletes posted over 50 seasonal best performances in their events. Many of our athletes also sacrificed an open event to run in a relay to score points for the team,” said head coach Calder Forcella.

For the girls, Ina King and Jayci Basse have started the season with some impressive successes.

“Ina King has shown tremendous growth from last season in all of her events which is a testament to the time she has spent in the weight room over the last year,” said coach Forcella

King just started triple jumping this year and has proven herself to be amongst the top jumpers in the state already.

“Another product of the offseason time spent in the weight room seeing success is Jayci Basse. She had another great meet, posting season bests in all of her events and held her own on the track with some tough 3A and 4A competition,” said coach Forcella.

Coach Forcella said that for the boys Ethan Yarrington is also seeing hard work in the weight room pay off. In a new event for Yarrington, he placed 6th in the 300 meter hurdles.
