Daniel Lee Herdt

Daniel Lee Herdt passed away early Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021, from congestive heart failure. He passed with his wife by his side in his home in Thermopolis, Wyo.

Dan was born August 20, 1956, to Wilbert and Shirley Herdt of Torrington, Wyo. He was oldest of four children and enjoyed playing football, baseball, and basketball in his youth. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1974. He attended college at Eastern Wyoming College, the University of Wyoming, and Casper College. He married his high school sweetheart, Penny Reader, in 1976 in Torrington, Wyo., and began his career with Amoco Pipeline Company in 1977. Dan was an active member of the Thermopolis community, participating in Men's League golf, Rotary, serving on the Thermopolis Improvement Committee, the Golf Board, and Hospital Board. Upon Dan's retirement from the oil & gas industry in 2007, he and his daughter Jessica opened Owl Creek Graphics in downtown Thermopolis where he worked until his passing.
