Bobcat lose in close battle

The Bobcat football team hosted #1 ranked Lyman last Friday.  The team battled tough, but fell by a final score of 14-6.

The team shut out the top ranked Eagles in the second half to give the team a chance to pull it out.

A late score gave the team hope, but an attempted onside kick was snatched away by Lyman.

"It was a great game from an attitude and effort standpoint. Our kids are beginning to figure out how important tempo and "juice" are to the game.  We're practicing better, and it's exciting seeing the growth," said coach Matt McPhie.

Defensively, Roedy Farrell and Eli McCumber led the way. Farrell had 15 tackles on the night, while McCumber added 10. Austin Barral did an excellent job holding down the Defensive line. Barral was in beast mode most of the night and he finished with 8 tackles including 2 tackles for loss.

Freshman Zane Stam grabbed an interception on a key play late in the first half to keep the Eagles out of the end zone.

Jack Ream grabbed an interception early in the game.

Roedy Farrell had a big game on offense as well.  Farrell accounted for 147 yards including 115 rushing yards.

The team travels to Mountain View this week for a 3 p.m. game vs the Buffalos.  The team will have a quick turnaround heading to play Big Piney on Tuesday the Oct. 19.
