Lady Cats struggle against Buffalo

The Lady Cats lost to Buffalo at home on Friday in four 16-25, 17-25, 25-22 and 15-25.

“Buffalo is probably the best team on our side of the conference this year. They have some great front row players and servers,” said coach Shannon Hill.

She added, “Our girls did a great job playing right there with them, we just would get behind by five points in the beginning and be unable to pull ourselves out of that hole.”

“In game three though we really focused on getting out of each serve/receive as quickly as possible and we maintained the lead the entire game,” added Hill.

Hill said Caydence Becher did a great job of putting the ball where the Lady Cats needed it for their hitters and Lexi Overfield did great in game three finding all of the holes in Buffalo’s defense.

“As a team, we set a goal to serve above 90% and the girls met that goal, which has been a struggle for us lately. I am proud of this team and hope now that we are turning the corner in our season, we can find a groove and gets some wins,” said Hill.

Stats: Caydence Becher 24 assists and 10 digs; Kamry Bowman 6 kills and 12 digs; Julie Johnson 9 kills and 2 aces; Lexi Overfield 12 kills and 1 block.

The Lady Cats host the Bobcat invite this Friday and Saturday.
