Jenks named firefigher of the year

The Thermopolis Fire Department held their annual awards banquet on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Lieutenant London Jenks was named Firefighter of the Year during the banquet.

Ryan Georgius was named Master Chef for his exceptional service to the kitchen committee.

For years of service, Bob Butchart was honored for 5 years and Clint Huckfeld, Jay Erk and Ben Shidler were each honored for 10 years.

The firemen did not hold their annual Fireman’s Ball for the public this year. They still had their fund drive with funds going to the replacement, repair and purchase of new equipment for their department. There are 30 members that all volunteer their time and respond to hundreds of calls annually.
