Car wash receives update

Cathy and Terry Titmus, owners of Performance Auto Wash, have recently upgraded their equipment to their facility and already business has increased. Their car wash equipment was outdated for some time and with customers using credit cards in addition to carrying cash, they needed their equipment to work with current technologies and payment methods. All their new equipment now takes credit cards for paying.

Cathy Titmus said, "We also upgraded our automatic washer. The nice feature of it is the Tri-Gloss if you do the $12 wash. It puts a nice wax on your vehicle and of course, it smells lovely. We added blow dryers to all our self serve bays and they are a great feature for blow-drying off your vehicle. Motorcyclists especially like them. We moved the vacuums to the back. They are no longer in the front. That way you can drive in and wash, then drive to the back and vacuum. We no longer have them to block our front facility, that's been a great addition to the car wash."

Another addition is the new hot and foamy shampoo vacuum with fragrance so you can shampoo out your carpets in your vehicle and add a pleasant smell. There are three scents available. When operating this machine make sure the readout shows a minimum of one dollar to use it otherwise it will not work.

Their prices have stayed the same, with the exception that the automatic washer increased in price by one dollar on each wash. The vacuums are one dollar for five minutes. The new vacuums feature a three-motor power system so they have great suction.

For customers who want to clean their vehicles after sunset, the facility has many, large lights that cover the area for easy to see use.

Not only has the equipment been upgraded, but they also added all-new pavement to the entire facility one month ago. They poured new concrete pads in the back for the vacuum area. The one-piece they have not completed yet is they are going to take out the old vacuum islands in the front and pour the entire front with new concrete.

Cathy Titmus said, "I feel like since adding the new equipment because we let the car wash kind of lack some tender loving care for the last few years, I feel like bringing the equipment up to the times with current technology, it immediately became busier and brought the people back in. Our business has increased since the remodeling, even though it has been just one week. We were late into the summer getting these new additions and would have preferred to do it at the beginning, but it took three months to build our equipment once we ordered it."

You can find Performance Auto Wash on the main route of South 6th Street, next to Mack's Market.
