Lady Cats host action at home

The Lady Bobcat volleyball team went over the mountain to Buffalo last Saturday and unfortunately fell to the Lady Buffs in four games; 17-25, 25-22, 15-25 and 19-25.

Coach Shannon Hill said the team is struggling right now to find a consistent momentum.

“We passed well and played good defense,” Hill said, “we just aren’t puttig balls away consistently, which leads to the other team going on big runs.”

Hill says they are playing the ‘catch-up’ game a lot and just playing not to lose rather than just playing to win. Being smarter on offense and better reading on defense has been the big focus this week.

Sesi Jensen dropped in 13 kills and 15 digs against Buffalo while Ashley McPhie posted 11 kills, 22 digs and two blocks. Elisa Weber added two aces and 13 digs to her stats. Dani Jo Pebbles had 15 digs and 25 assists for the weekend.

“Luckily we have a weekend at home playing Lovell on Thursday,” Hill said, “and our home tourney this Friday and Saturday to help boost our confidence before heading into next week.”

On Thursday the freshmen game will start at 4 p.m., the JV game starts at 5 p.m. and the Varsity will take the court at 6 p.m.

You can catch all the Lady Cat action in the gym on Friday and Saturday during their home invitational.
