Worldwide Photo Walk event comes to town

Photographers of all skill levels grab that camera, charge up your batteries and get ready for the 12th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk to be held in Thermopolis on Saturday, October 5.

Hailed as the world’s largest global and social photography event, more than 24,000 photographers of all walks of life and skill levels gather on this one day to explore their little corners of the world.

Kelby is a photographer and designer with more than 60 books under his belt about using Photoshop and digital editing and started these special photography outings in 2008.

Dale Horkey, former Hot Springs County High School graduate and owner of Photoprose PhotoGraphics of Denver will be the leader for the Thermopolis walk which will include the terraces, cooling ponds, Big Spring and other facilities located in the park.

At the end of the walk the participants will gather to socialize and share their photos and experience with each other.

There is also the opportunity to download your best photo to the worldwide Photo Walk contest for a chance to win a prize like a new DSLR, gift cards, camera bags and more. A grand prize winner and 10 finalists will be chosen by Kelby himself.

The walk will begin at the Pavilion at 4 p.m. and be completed by 6 p.m. when the group will move to the Days Inn for the social and sharing time.

The walk is completely free, but registration is required. Register at worldwidephotowalk.com and look for the Thermopolis walk.
