On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Friday, April 26

7:02 a.m. Report of theft in the Kirby area. While en route to the incident, the officer received report that the caller provided wrong information.

Saturday, April 27

1:45 p.m. Call from the Red Lane area regarding plastic pipe leaning against a rock. The pipe had been blown over by the wind and a civil standby was provided while it was retrieved.

Tuesday, April 23

10:45 a.m. Caller reported a subject was at a property he was not supposed to be at, though that subject was actually located a different location at the same time.

4:52 p.m. Report of a vehicle at a business in which a male subject took a female, an infant and a dog against their will. It was later learned the female subject was allowed to go to a residence to get some items.

However, upon her return the male subject kicked her and the dog out of the vehicle and left with the infant. The vehicle was later stopped, and the female and infant went with an officer. The male subject was allowed to leave and no charges were filed in the incident.

9:20 p.m. Report of a suspicious subject looking in windows. The subject could not be located.

Wednesday, April 24

1:33 p.m. Incident of two adult subjects, each claiming to be harassed by the other.

Thursday, April 25

3:08 p.m. Robert J. Hunter was arrested for alleged bond violation.

7:25 p.m. A deputy was flagged down by a subject who saw a male subject slap a female. An officer arrested Andre B. Sharpe for alleged domestic violence.

7:36 p.m. A male subject requested assistance with a juvenile who allegedly threw a rock and broke a vehicle window.

8:14 p.m. Report of burglary. The matter is under investigation.

Friday, April 26

12:26 a.m. During a traffic stop, the driver admitted he had been drinking. After passing field sobriety maneuvers, he was allowed to go on his way.

10:44 a.m. An officer in circuit court smelled alcohol on a subject. Michael Sun Rhodes was sentenced, but had that sentenced revoked and was arrested on a $1,000 bond.

4:37 p.m. During a traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The female driver passed field sobriety maneuvers and was allowed to go, but was warned about stop sign and turn signal violations.

Saturday, April 27

8:13 a.m. An officer stopped a female driver known to not have a license and issued a citation.

2:27 p.m. Keith L. Searle was arrested on a Washakie County warrant. During the arrest, Tara L. Soneson was arrested for alleged interference.

3:04 p.m. A group a juveniles was reported to be possible vandalizing a property. The kids were playing Capture the Flag.

5:04 p.m. Report of a missing wall.

5:12 p.m. John D. Hammond was arrested for alleged public intoxication.

6:45 p.m. Report of a possible break in, though there was no evidence inside or outside to indicate someone entering or leaving.

11:43 p.m. Ronald F. Shoemaker II went to the Law Enforcement Center to turn himself in and was arrested for alleged possession and use of a controlled substance.

Sunday, April 28

11:25 p.m. Report of a break in and several items missing. The matter is still under investigation.

Monday, April 29

12:36 p.m. A female subject claimed someone hit her vehicle three separate times. The matter is still under investigation.

3:33 p.m. Officer was requested to the high school for a report of possible drugs. An item was found and tested, but was presumptive negative for a controlled substance.

Circuit court

Jamie M. Brower was found guilty of driving under the influence with a child passenger and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $505.
