High school music students head to district festival

The Hot Springs County High School music department departs tomorrow (Friday) for the Northern Big Horn Basin District Festival, which will be held this year in Cody.

The concert band, jazz band and concert choir along with 12 soloists, a saxophone quartet and a flute trio will be performing during the two-day event.

On Friday, the concert choir will perform three pieces, I’m Bound for Glory!, The Dream Keeper and Down to the River to Pray.

Concert band will feature Three Southern Vignettes, Romanesque and A River’s Fury!, while the jazz band will play Riggs!, We, Too, and Shades On, Roof Down.

Solos and ensembles will play throughout the day on Saturday.

A Festival Concert filled with their performances as well as a few of the solo performances will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
