On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

5:22 p.m. Report of juveniles fighting near the old airport. One subject was cited for property destruction and a second subject was cited for three counts of reckless endangerment, though a total six subjects were involved.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

7:34 p.m. Report of a gas drive off. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Thursday, Oct. 18

6:43 p.m. Report received of a subject driving a vehicle on the golf course. Clayton L. Douglas was arrested for alleged driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, and he was cited for criminal trespassing, property destruction and possession of a Schedule IV substance.

Friday, Oct. 19

11:09 a.m. Subject wanted to report he believes a neighbor is attempting to poison his dog.

4:32 p.m. Report of a suspicious subject behind a house. The subject was only picking up rocks.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

11:52 a.m. Report of an accident that happened four days prior, when a vehicle backed into a school vehicle.

8:05 p.m. Report of a male subject believed to be trespassed from a location but wasn’t. The subject could not be located.

8:15 p.m. Report of a subject in distress at the water plant. No subject could be found.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

6:28 a.m. Report of a juvenile throwing a rock and damaging a house. It was actually a newspaper that hit the house.

2:18 p.m. Report of a family fight that was verbal only. The officer helped settle things down.

3:14 p.m. Male subject reported a lost phone.

8:31 p.m. Chris A. Taylor was arrested for alleged domestic assault.

Thursday, Oct. 18

8:47 a.m. REDDI report, though the suspect vehicle could not be located.

9:02 a.m. A family requested their son be trespassed from a residence.

1:29 p.m. Report of subjects smoking marijuana. The report was unfounded.

8:34 p.m. Complainant reported male subject was verbally abusive to her at her workplace.

Friday, Oct. 19

2:38 p.m. Report of a subject going to businesses and fraudulently purchasing phones.

Saturday, Oct. 20

12:36 p.m. Following a traffic stop, a subject was cited for possession of marijuana.

3:26 p.m. After an officer responded to a vehicle blocking an alley he detected an odor of marijuana. Eric S. Kellogg was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

Sunday, Oct. 21

9:10 a.m. Officer responded to a report of an intoxicated subject at a business. Michael D. Mariner was arrested for public intoxication.

3:22 p.m. Two subjects were in a verbal confrontation at a business. One subject had left prior to the officer’s arrival, and could not be located.

Monday, Oct. 22

3:31 p.m. Report of a vehicle with a loud exhaust being driven recklessly. The driver was cited for exhibition of acceleration.

3:48 p.m. Call from a business regarding a former employee that had taken keys and other items. The officer was able to get the keys back.

6:25 p.m. Complaint of two subjects who appeared to be intoxicated selling magazines. the subjects admitted to drinking, but were not to the point of illegal intoxication, but were warned of selling items in town without a license.

7:15 p.m. A pair of flippers and a CD was found in Candy Jack Park.

11:56 p.m. Patricia Nunez was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Circuit court

Trisha Damiano was found guilty of use of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 88 days suspension and six months supervised probation. Fees and fines are $255.

Kayla M. Rowland was found guilty of use of a controlled substance, interference with an officer and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $970.

Leonardo Hernandez was bound over to District Court on three counts of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, and two counts of use of a controlled substance.

John D. Laster was bound over to District Court on charges of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, and two counts of use of a controlled substance.

Property transfer

Warranty Deed: Thomas Sullivan and Jeanne Sullivan to Jennifer Axtell and Warren Axtell, Lot 1 and the East Half of Lot 2, Block 5, Kinney’s First Addition to the Town of Thermopolis.
