On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Friday, April 13

3:19 p.m. Report of a speeding vehicle. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Saturday, April 14

1:13 p.m. Welfare check done on a juvenile, who was found to be OK.

Sunday, April 15

7:13 p.m. Report of a juveniles subject who fell. The juvenile refused ambulance service, though a deputy made sure he got home OK.

Police department

Tuesday, April 10

4:59 a.m. An officer responded to a report of an unknown subject sleeping in a vehicle on private property. The subject said the property was his friend’s residence.

8:46 a.m. An officer responded to a bond violation. A report was sent to the county attorney’s office.

10:14 a.m. Reported case of money missing from an elderly subject.

2:16 p.m. An officer was requested to go to a school to interview a juvenile.

9:16 p.m. Aaron M. Bissonette was arrested for alleged strangulation of a household member.

10:42 p.m. Report of a suspicious subject, who was later taken home.

Wednesday, April 11

9:51 a.m. Subject reported someone attempting to get into her vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry.

Thursday, April 12

9:20 a.m. A subject from outside the county tried to check in at the Law Enforcement Center but was not allowed to due to stipulations. The county attorney of Washakie County was contacted.

2:14 p.m. A letter was sent out for abandoned vehicles and other items to be removed from a property.

Friday, April 13

9:26 a.m. Report of a phone scam, in which a person is requested to send money in exchange for a much greater amount.

Saturday, April 14

6:12 p.m. A disabled deer was located on Broadway and it was necessary to put the animal down.

Monday, April 16

4:21 p.m. Joseph D. Ormund was arrested on a Park County warrant.

Circuit court

Cheryl A. Stewart was found guilty of second offense driving under the influence and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 83 days suspension and two years unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $755.

Louis D. Ramos was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance. Fees and fines are $255.

Mildred Fraser was found guilty of driving without an interlock device and was sentenced to seven days in jail. Fees and fines are $255.
