Eric Mackay to purchase Blair's Super Market

Beginning April 2, a store that has been a familiar site for 10 years in Thermopolis will get a new name when Blair's Super Market becomes Mack's Market.

Eric Mackay, who has been with Blair's for 30 years and managed the Thermopolis store for 10, explained when Blair's acquired the Consumer's Thriftway 10 years ago there was a verbal agreement the store would be operated under the Blair's name for 10 years then sell it to him.

As Mack's, Mackay noted the store would be an independent grocer. He doesn't anticipate any major changes right away and wants to keep things running as smoothly as possible. With regard to the Blair's Plus Rewards program, it will be going away, though points from purchases made in March will still be honored.

Mackay said the new store would introduce a rewards program in the future as they get used to the offerings available to guests and guests let him know what they'd like to have.

In the meantime, he said the store will continue to offer the same service as well as the freshest possible produce, meats and bakery items. He appreciates the support shown to the store by the community. A grand opening celebration is planned for a later date.
