BHB Football Camp starts Monday

Monday marks the start of the Big Horn Basin Football Camp, now in its 28th year in Thermopolis.

The camp will be held at LeRoy Hayes Field and will include individual drills and techniques, 7 on 7 competition, swimming, mini golf and a whitewater rafting opportunity for the older players.

Costs for grades 5-12 will be $70 for the camp only and $105 with the whitewater rafting trip. Drillers, the K-4 players, will be $35. Rafting is not available for the little Drillers.

Registration will be in the high school commons on Monday, June 26 from 9 – 11:30 a.m.

Staff for the camp will include head coach John Reiners from Black Hills State along with his linebacker coach and defensive line coach, Quinn Brown from William and Jewel University in Kansas City, Shand LaDage from Minot State and Dylan Reiners, the wide receiver for Black Hills State.

Other coaches will come from Skyline High School in Longmont, Colo., Vista Ridge High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., and coaches from Sundance, Riverton, Douglas, Green River, Sheridan, Natrona and Powell.

Coordinator of the camp, Heath Hayes, said they are currently expecting about 200 athletes for the camp and there is still time to register. Athletes are coming from Colorado, South Dakota and all over Wyoming, from Rock Springs to Wright and Sundance.
