On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, April 25

4:19 p.m. Subject reported his vehicle had been tampered with. Upon further investigation, it was determined the lug nuts were loose, but it was unclear if this was due to tampering by another or mechanical failure.

4:41 p.m. Report of an vehicle believed to be abandoned in the Sand Draw area. The vehicle was gone when a deputy arrived.

Wednesday, April 26

4:55 p.m. Report of a juvenile female walking away from her home following an argument. The subject was later found and returned home, and the deputy spoke with her parents.

Friday, April 28

7:14 a.m. Caller reported a cow on the road in East Sunnyside. A deputy was unable to locate the animal.

2:49 p.m. Report of cows loose on the highway. The cows were located and returned to their pasture.

Saturday, April 29

10:12 a.m. Complainant reported receiving a call from a subject trying to get money, stating he’d won a sweepstakes. There was no money lost by the complainant.

10:19 p.m. Report of a barking dog outside of town. The owner was contacted and made aware of the complaint.

Sunday, April 30

9:56 a.m. A civil standby was requested by a subject who needed to lock up a home for someone.

10:16 p.m. A deputy was called to assist a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper with administering sobriety maneuvers. David Richard Jolliff was arrested for alleged driving under the influence, speeding, no insurance and no driver’s license.

Monday, May 1

1:13 p.m. Report of a dog at large in Sunnyside. The owner picked up the dog, but was given a verbal warning.

Tuesday, April 25

9:19 a.m. Property damage accident in the dirt lot behind the courthouse. A vehicle collided with another, leaving damage that included scratches and a dent.

7:49 p.m. Civil standby was provided, to allow a subject to retrieve some clothing.

Wednesday, April 26

8:35 p.m. Request for a civil standby. The request was denied, as the other party involved was not cooperative. The matter was referred to the parties’ attorneys.

Thursday, April 27

11:46 a.m. A vehicle with a boat trailer was parked on Broadway. The owner was contacted and later moved the vehicle.

2:09 p.m. Caller reported a dog hanging around his property, acting in a menacing manner.

Friday, April 28

10:22 a.m. Jason Flint was arrested on a Colorado warrant.

3:44 p.m. Report of a small dog at large. There was no information as to whether the animal was caught.

3:57 p.m. Complainant reported having an unpleasant interaction with another subject at a business.

4:32 p.m. Caller reported a missing dog.

6:34 p.m. Report of a dog at large. The dog was located and impounded.

7:11 p.m. Report of juveniles setting off fireworks.

9:21 p.m. Subject wanted to know how to dispose of prescription drugs.

Saturday, April 29

9:15 a.m. Report of a fraudulent email. Complaints stated the message appeared to be from someone he knew, though his friend said he hadn’t sent anything.

6:40 p.m. Caller reported a missing dog.

Sunday, April 30

12:22 p.m. Report of a dog at large. The dog was in its own yard when an officer arrived, and a resident took the animal inside.

12:54 p.m. Complainant stated a dog was acting aggressively toward her and her daughter. The owner was contacted and warned.

Monday, May 1

6:54 a.m. Report of a vehicle parked in an incorrect spot. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle.

9:15 a.m. Complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from the University of Wyoming.

10:53 a.m. Report of a subject driving erratically. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

3:21 p.m. Report of a dog getting out of a yard and chasing after another dog.

4:33 p.m. Officer assisted Department of Family Services with a urine analysis.

4:38 p.m. Report of a camp er parked and blocking the view of traffic. The matter was taken care of.

6:43 p.m. Caller reported a dog at large. The dog could not be located.

7:34 p.m. Report of subjects taking gravel from the Town Shop pit area. The subjects planned to use it to fill in potholes in a trailer court.
