Winters announces run for reelection

Nathan Winters is announcing his campaign for reelection as State Representative of House District 28.

"I am honored to have served the people of House District 28 for the past four years and I am thankful for all the encouragement and support during my time as State Representative."

"I have worked to preserve a sound budget and stand for the principles I outlined to the voters on the campaign trail four years ago. Those principles are: upholding the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Wyoming; limited government; working toward a business friendly environment; upholding the Second Amendment; ensuring local control in education; and maintaining multiple use of our public lands."

In the Legislature, Winters has served on the Minerals and Agriculture Committees during his first term and the Judiciary and Management Audit Committees in his second term.

"This has given me valuable experience in carrying forward the issues that affect the citizens of House District 28."

"Multiple pressures from outside of the state have resulted in an alarming decline in state revenues over the past two years. How we budget and spend state revenue starts with the Wyoming State Legislature. I will be vigilant in participating in that process."

Winters graduated from high school in Cheyenne and has a bachelor's degree in Theology and a master's degree in Religious Education.

Nathan and his wife Christie, live in Thermopolis and have three children: Liberty (9), Zayden (7), and Bryzon (5).

Winters is a pastor at the First Baptist Church, and works extensively as a speaker and teacher. He also served as the chairman of the Hot Springs County Republican Party and as parliamentarian for the Wyoming Republican Party.

Winters concluded, "We are facing critical times in our state and nation. I will continue to stand with the values and determination to make a difference for our district."
