Lady Cats end Big Horn tourney on positive note

The Hot Springs County High School Lady Bobcats ended last weekend's Big Horn Invitational with mixed results.

During two set pool play on Friday, the ever-improving Lady Cats split sets with both Burns and Tongue River before losing both games to Shoshoni.

After their performance on Friday, the Lady Cats drew a fifth seed on Saturday and squared off against Tongue River, Riverside, and Lusk. Saturday's results compared favorably with Friday's, as the Lady Cats lost to Tongue River in three sets, but later beat Riverside and Lusk in straight sets.

"My girls are very up and down right now," said Lady Cats coach Shannon Hill. "We need to work on consistency and finishing points."

The Big Horn Invitational was attended by a large number of class 2A teams. "I felt that we ended on a very positive note for the weekend and it was great to be able to see the competitors within our conference."

Although the team's record is hovering below .500, Hill is still positive about the rest of the season. "We have a great shot to take this team far this year we just need to keep working out the kinks," Hill concluded.

The Lady Cats' next game is Thursday at Rocky Mountain. The Lady Cats will return home on Friday and Saturday for the Bobcat Invitational.
