Sunday, June 21

10:09 p.m. Firefighters responded to possible fire near Kirby and Gebo. Smoke and ash was reported.

Monday, June 22

6:32 p.m. Firefighters responded to a down power line near mile marker 136 on Hwy. 20 N. A small grass fire was reported and quickly put out.

Wednesday, June 17

10:33 a.m. Deputy requested to assist with escort of juvenile to the Wyoming Boy’s School.

11:51 a.m. A male called regarding a domestic dispute. The male requested documentation from his grandmother. A family member threatened the male for supposedly upsetting his grandmother. A deputy contacted the family and procured the requested documentation.

12:37 p.m. Theft of a boat and trailer was reported from Hwy. 120 S. The boat and trailer were recovered in Fremont County. No arrest was made and no suspects have been identified.

Thursday, June 18

5:18 p.m. Someone reported juveniles jumping off the swinging bridge in the state park. Several individuals had already jumped when the deputy arrived. The others were warned regarding their behavior.

5:27 p.m. A possible drunk driver was reported. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Saturday, June 20

5:29 a.m. A rock slide was reported in the canyon. Boulders slid onto the road partially obstructing the south-bound lane and totally blocking the north-bound lane.

Sunday, June 21

11:49 a.m. Someone reported a problem with a vendor at the car rally and asked to have the individual removed.

1:37 p.m. An inmate problem was reported when an inmate got upset and would not follow rules for laundry kits. Inmate was placed in lockdown. Afterwards a deputy found the inmate between visitations attempting suicide by removing clothes and choking himself. The inmate was taken to the hospital, seen by a doctor, and released two hours later. The inmate was released from Hot Springs County Jail the following day.

9:22 p.m. Property damage was reported when a rock hit a vehicle on S. Hwy. 20 at Red Cut outside of town. No injuries were reported.

Monday, June 22

7:30 a.m. Someone reported two horses missing. The horses were later found.

1:49 p.m. Three motorcycles were reported speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Deputy was unable to locate the motorcycles.

6:09 p.m. Someone reported a large black duffle bag found along Hwy 20 North.

7:04 p.m. Someone reported a person grabbing a girl and driving north on Hwy. 20. A deputy located the vehicle and discovered two females had been intoxicated at a funeral reception earlier that day. An argument had occurred and one female had tried to jump out of the moving vehicle. A male and female brought her back into the vehicle and an argument ensued in an attempt to keep the female from hurting herself. The deputy found no evidence of abuse.

Tuesday, June 16

6:27 a.m. Someone reported a male passed out in a residence hallway with storage doors all open. When an officer responded the person had already left.

10:44 a.m. Someone reported a female passed away at her residence.

Wednesday, June 17

2:44 p.m. Someone reported a golden retriever that would not stop barking and asked officers to contact the owner. An officer arrived at the residence but the dog was not barking. The officer drove by again and the dog barked occasionally. The officer attempted to make contact with the owner but no one was home. The officer will attempt to contact the owner by phone.

10:30 p.m. A male with gray hair and gray T-shirt was reported riding his bicycle through the circuit court lobby. An officer reported to the scene but the individual was gone and was not found.

Thursday, June 18

12:44 p.m. Someone reported a found bicycle. The bicycle was impounded.

1:46 p.m. A family fight was reported between a brother, Casey Bybee 24, and sister, Kayloni Good 26, with allegations that the argument turned physical.

The brother was arguing with his girlfriend and tried to leave but the sister wouldn’t let him leave. The brother and sister began name-calling, the sister hit the brother and the brother pushed the sister and she fell in the bathtub.

When officers arrived on the scene the parties were separated. Both parties were issued a citation for simple assault and battery and the sister was asked to gather her belongings and leave.

2:42 p.m. A Torro self-propelled lawn mower was reported stolen within the last month. The lawn mower has not yet been found.

5:12 p.m. A business owner reported vandalism that appeared to be a BB gun shot through the glass of the front door. Offers have no current suspects.

7:51 p.m. Someone reported harassing phone calls while at the Cody hospital. An officer recommended the individual block the phone number, but this had apparently already been done. The officer called the person who was harassing and asked the person to stop. The person agreed to stop calling.

Friday, June 19

12:22 a.m. Someone reported hearing what they thought were gunshots by the construction area on Broadway. An officer was unable to locate anyone in the area shooting a gun or fireworks.

10:40 a.m. Someone reported fireworks being set off at a residence near the Maverick store. An officer went to the residence but no one was home. The officer later spoke to the resident and kids shooting off fireworks. The resident said they would take care of it.

11:31 a.m. Someone reported that while putting trash in a dumpster a near business owner yelled at them and harassed them about it. An officer tried contacting the reporting party without success.

2:02 p.m. An officer observed John Baker, 26, walking north on 6th Street and confirmed a bench warrant for the individual. The officer transported Baker to the detention center and served the warrant.

9:44 p.m. A female reported being beaten by her boyfriend who was still in the apartment. Officers responded, the two parties were separated, and the female declined EMS. The female reported that Patrick Little had been hitting her open-handed all day and had tried to suffocate her. The female’s injuries were photographed and witnesses were interviewed. Little was arrested and charged with domestic battery, interference with a peace officer, and reckless endangerment.

Saturday, June 20

1:27 a.m. Someone reported kids messing with construction cones by the railroad tracks. An officer arrived and told the kids to stop messing with the barricades.

2:54 a.m. A female was reported for public intoxication. The female was at a local bar where her keys were taken away. She got mad and left the bar yelling and running. An officer found Judy Abraham, 51, incoherent and walking down Shoshoni Street. Abraham was arrested for public intoxication.

10:59 a.m. Someone reported receiving a strange phone call from an unknown individual provocatively commenting on the way the person talked and walked. An officer called the number from the party’s caller ID and left a message asking the person not to contact the party again. No further phone calls have been reported.

6:21 p.m. Someone reported property damage. It appeared someone had hit the corner of their house and shop with a vehicle.

Sunday, June 21

5:43 a.m. Someone reported a suspicious male subject passed out in a vehicle parked nearby.

10:26 a.m. Someone reported the front door of a residence propped open with no one around. Officers notified the home owner.

11:30 a.m. A deer was reported hit by a car and now had a broken leg.

Monday, June 22

8:39 a.m. Someone reported a cat caught in a trap. Animal control took the cat to a veterinary clinic.

9:28 a.m. Someone reported a trapped cat. The cat was taken to a veterinary clinic.

3:08 p.m. Minor damage was reported on two vehicles that collided at the intersection of 5th and Shoshoni.

Circuit court

Robert Lawson pled guilty on charges for use of a controlled substance on June 19. He was fined $190.

Corey Coriddi pled guilty on charges for domestic assault on June 19. He was fined $290.

Robert Bjornson pled guilty on charges for domestic battery on June 19. He was fined $190.

Lara Halbert pled guilty on criminal trespass and breach of peace charges on June 19. She was fined $540.

Forest Martin Whiteman has a jury trial set for July 29 for his charge of driving under the influence.

Hollie Smith has a jury trial set for September 15 for assault charges.

Joe Boyd has a jury trial set for July 29 for a fraud by check charge.

Patrick Little has a pretrial set for June 29 following his arrest for domestic battery and interference with a peace officer.

John Baker has a pretrial set for June 26 following his arrest for failure to pay fines.

Birth

Madelyn Clair Olsen was born Friday, June 12, 2015, at Powell Valley Healthcare to Lauren and Samuel Olsen of Basin, Wyo.

She weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Grandparents are Mike and Rebecca Moncur of Lovell, Wyo. and Randall and Violet Olsen of Thermopolis.
