The indoor track at Hot Springs County High School is available to the public for walking use between the hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. If you enter the building during school hours, 8:20 a.m.-4 p.m., they do ask that you check in at the office. There may be times when student athletes are using the track. Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Lane Gunkel was sentenced to a period of seven to nine years in the Wyoming State Penitentiary. The Mineral Tax Division of the Wyoming Department of Revenue has released the estimated taxable values of oil and gas for Wyoming through Sept. 2016. Hot Springs County Assessor, Shelley Deromedi said the values are lower, however, the oil estimate looks better at the nine-month mark than it did at the six-month mark. The value estimate for oil at the six-month mark was just 58% of 2015’s estimated value, but now is about 10 percent higher. Jeb Schenck – Chasing Light, is the newest exhibit at the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper, opening Jan. 27.The one-man show, which runs through May 7, features about 60 photos in both black and white and color that Schenck has taken over the last 10 years. During the Town Council meeting Tuesday evening, Resolution No. 531 was approved, authorizing submission of a pre-application from to the State Loan and Investment Board for a loan through the State Revolving Fund on behalf of the governing body for the Town of Thermopolis. At 95 years old, Daugherty has been helping out at the center for over 20 years.
