  • People for People to deliver Thanksgiving meals

    The People for People program and other local volunteers will be preparing Thanksgiving meals this year. However, they will not have eat-in meals at Holy Trinity Church. They will be preparing the food, packaging and delivering the meals to their People for People families and anyone that needs a meal. Sign-up sheets are at the Help Center and the Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce. They aim to have meals out by 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. People for People is seeking volunteers to help.   • Olsen cookie jar auction planned

    A fundraiser Cookie Jar Auction for Lauri Olsen will be held Friday, Nov. 12 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. In early July, Olsen was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, which has metastasized to the liver. She is being treated at the Billings Clinic. There will be a pulled pork dinner, with donations gladly accepted. The auction includes a fully processed beef donated by Roedy Farrell and some beautiful quilts along with many other items.     After DUI arrest, man out as county Homeland Security director POWELL (WNE) — Less than a week after being arrested on allegations that he drove his work truck while drunk, Jack Tatum is out as Park County’s director of Homeland Security.     by Karla Pomeroy A 26-year-old Worland woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash on the evening of September 30, south of Thermopolis. According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Beck, Maxwell J. Wruck, 31, of Worland was driving a 2000 Ford F250 southbound on U.S. 20 just past Thermopolis. At about 9 p.m. near milepost 128 Wruck swerved to the left to avoid a deer in the roadway.
