    At the June Hot Springs Health board meeting, CEO Margie Molitor gave her final growth report prior to her retirement. She said the recent state survey was “probably the best survey that Hot Springs Health has had in years. I mean, from what I could see.   • Wyoming's population continues to age fast

    CHEYENNE – The elderly population (age 65 and over) in the state grew 3.6 percent between July 2020 and July 2021, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates. In comparison, Wyoming’s total population only grew 0.3 percent during the same period. The median age (half of the population is younger, and the other half older) rose 0.3 to 38.9 years, while it increased from 38.5 to 38.8 from 2020 to 2021 for the U.S. The figure indicates that the aging of both the U.S. and Wyoming’s population has been speedy. “Though the impact from Baby Boomers...

    A cookie jar auction fundraiser will be held Saturday, July 9 for Jessica Power and her preemie twins, Kimber and Colt. It will begin at 6 p.m. at the HSC Fair Building. In mid April, Jessica’s blood pressure spiked and after being transported to a Billings hospital the twins were born via c-section on April 16. Colt weighed 1 lb., 7 oz. and Kimber weighed 1 lb., 10 oz. Funds will go to the family who will have many doctors appointments and travel expenses. Jessica is an eighth grade teacher.     The Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department is planning on holding their Independence Day fireworks show on Monday, July 4, according to Chief Mark Collins. The show will start just after it becomes dark. The show should last between 15 to 25 minutes and they will shoot off from atop T-Hill.
