    At the July Hot Springs County Travel and Tourism meeting, Chairman Carl Leyba and the board welcomed newly appointed members Dr. William Robinson and Ryan Shaffer. Robinson is the owner of Owl Creek Graphics, a retail store in downtown Thermopolis. Shaffer owns P6 Station, a pizza restaurant. Both of their businesses are related to the tourism industry and therefore they qualify to be board members. Robinson and Shaffer were not able to attend the meeting, however.     Hot Springs Health has reached an agreement with HealthTech and Billings Clinic in which the two organizations will provide joint management services for the Wyoming-based 15-bed Critical Access Hospital.     The Hot Springs County School Board unanimously approved the list of bus stops for the 2022-23 school year, which were largely unchanged from the previous year, but not without a debate on the relative safety afforded by the mandatory enforcement of the eight-way light system.     The 2022 Hot Springs County Fair, “Country Days, American Ways” will be kicking off this Saturday with the Peewee, 4-H and FFA Youth Horse Show at the fairgrounds beginning at 8 a.m. Starting next Monday, Aug. 1, youths will be showing dogs, cats, rabbits, poultry, goats, sheep, swine and beef throughout the week, as well as showing off their shooting sports talents and 4-H and FFA projects.     Two events are being planned for the first weekend in August, the Gift of the Waters Pageant and Wyoming Discovery Days.     The Hot Springs County Sheriff's Department has a new K-9 unit with Deputy Shayna Cox and a one and half-year-old German Shepard named Riggs. Cox said that she and Riggs went through about three weeks of training working every day. Riggs was supplied by a company called MAKOR K9 of West Virginia.     The Bureau of Reclamation, in response to a request from the Hanover Irrigation District, has scheduled a flushing flow below Boysen Dam. “The purpose of the flushing flow below Boysen is to attempt to flush moss down river and mitigate the moss the district has at their diversion,” said Wyoming Area Manager Lyle D. Myler.     Last Thursday, a fire on BLM land in the Black Willow area, near East River Road, was contained to roughly 35 to 38 acres. The fire started in rough terrain after a lightning storm hit Hot Springs County the night before. Eight government engines stayed on scene for around three days.
