A evening of fun is planned during the Class of 2023 fundraiser Bingo night set for Friday, March 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. At the March 15 Hot Springs County Travel & Tourism meeting Treasurer Audra Dominguez gave the financial report and said their January lodging tax revenue was $9,697.36 which was only 1% lower than the previous year. Local author Lea Schoenewald has a new book proposal approved by History Press, a part of Arcadia Publishing. Schoenewald’s book will be about historical narratives of the Gebo, Crosby, and Kirby mining camps from the early 1900s. Schoenewald hopes to complete the book by the middle of October of this year. Thermopolis First Baptist Church's Caleb Howe was ordained on Tuesday, March 14. The Bureau of Reclamation, in collaboration with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGF), has scheduled a flushing flow in the Wind River downstream of Boysen Dam, according to Wyoming Area Manager, Lyle Myler. At last Tuesday’s Hot Springs County Commissioners board meeting, Brian Clarkson of Ardurra (formerly T-O Engineers) gave the Geographic Information System (GIS) update.
