    Local health insurance broker Vicki Powell wants to inform the public that Wyoming Medicaid will start its Unwinding Program from May 2023 through July 2024. This process will not happen all at once and Powell is concerned that if a Medicaid participant has moved since the pandemic started or their financial status has changed, Wyoming Medicaid might not have their current contact information.     Members of the Thermopolis Rodeo Club competed in Laramie last weekend with some strong finishes from our locals. Roedy Farrell came in first on Saturday in the bareback riding with a score of 78 earning 9.5 points. On Sunday, he came in second with a score of 64, earning 9 points. Taylor Agar was 15th in barrel racing on Saturday with a time of 16.454 and 10th in pole bending with a time of 23.34, earning 1 point.     One Eyed Buffalo Saloon officially opened its Wyoming Downs gaming area on March 31 with its 16 pari-mutuel machines. This a first for Thermopolis to have this number of legalized gambling machines in a facility.     Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory (WSVL) diagnosed highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus in a barn cat near Thermopolis. According to WSVL, wild birds, particularly water fowl, have been affected in large numbers by HPAI, but in recent months they have detected the virus in wild carnivorous mammals including mountain lions and a red fox.
