    One Eyed Buffalo Saloon officially opened its Wyoming Downs gaming area on March 31 with its 16 pari-mutuel machines. This a first for Thermopolis to have this number of legalized gambling machines in a facility.     Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory (WSVL) diagnosed highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus in a barn cat near Thermopolis. According to WSVL, wild birds, particularly water fowl, have been affected in large numbers by HPAI, but in recent months they have detected the virus in wild carnivorous mammals including mountain lions and a red fox.     The Bobcat Track and Field team opened their season at the Wheatland invite last Thursday. Bobcats competed against 20 other schools at the tournament.
