The Hot Springs County 4-H is planning an indoor carnival to not only raise money but also provide community members an afternoon of fun. The Bighorn Bowhunters are having an archery shoot Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. Shoot times are 8, 10 and 11:30 a.m. Organizers of the event are looking for donations of about 50 Christmas trees to create a small faux forest for the shoot. The program, which has been running since the 1970’s, is run completely by volunteers and provides wrestlers ages five to 16 an opportunity to compete and receive coaching in one of the world’s oldest sports. The Town of Thermopolis asks residents to refrain from filling town dumpsters with Christmas trees. The town asks residents to place the trees next to the dumpster so town employees can remove them. Another option to dispose of the trees would be to donate them for use by the Bighorn Bowhunters during the club’s New Year’s Shoot Sunday, Jan. 3.
