    Lightning caused fires in Hot Springs County, Tuesday, July 1, had Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department members responding to five wildfires ranging from a single tree to the 800+ acre Hall Road Fire and the Coyote Run Fire. The Coyote Run Fire remained active for a few days with hot spots and flare ups. Several agencies responded to help with the fires including air support.
