    The Hot Springs County Education Endowment Foundation is accepting community funding requests for 2019. Those with educational projects or needs are requested to submit their applications before Dec. 30. The endowment has helped fund projects such as the Imagination Library through the Children’s Resource Center, the Yellowstone trip for elementary students, the living wax museum at Thermopolis Middle School and the TMS Water for South Sudan project, among several others.     The Department of Family Services is taking applications for the annual Elf Tree. Annette Arey with DFS explained if someone feels they will not be able to provide Christmas presents for their children — ages 0-17 — they can stop by the DFS office at 403 Big Horn and pick up an application with pertinent information related to the child and gifts, such as what they would like to receive and clothing size.     According to information from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), based on the most recent 2016 data from the CDC, suicide is the sixth leading cause of death in Wyoming. It is the second leading cause for ages 15-44, the fourth leading for ages 45-54, the seventh leading for ages 55-64 and the 14th leading for ages 65 and older.     The Wyoming Dinosaur Center will host a Dancing with the Dinosaurs fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 6-10 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per person, with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar available.
