    The Hot Springs County Commissioners had an update last week from the COVID-19 unified command team, consisting of County Health Officer, Dr. Vernon Miller, Emergency Management Coordinator Bill Gordon and Hot Springs County Public Health Nurse Manager Tricia McPhie. With approval from the state, restaurants, churches, hair salons and other limited businesses are now able to be open with certain safety measures in place.     The graduation ceremony for this year's Hot Springs County High School seniors is going to be one to remember. "Our Class of 2020 seniors will have the most memorable graduation in 100 years," said high school principal Breez Daniels. "This is the 100th Commencement at Hot Springs County High School, an important milestone for our community."   • Limited tours of new hospital facility

    The Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital opened its new addition's doors on Tuesday for tours to key supporters of the construction. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the tours were delayed and numbers were limited.   • Assessor's office to begin field work

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hot Springs County Assessor’s Office has not been able to do their normal field work, but beginning Monday, May 18, they will be resuming their field work with implementation of safety measures. All employees will be wearing a protective face shield and will use hand sanitizer before and after contact with each property owner. Ashley McPhie has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. McPhie will join the women's basketball team for the Battlin' Bears.     Mayor Mike Chimenti, under the recommendation of Town Attorney Mike Messenger, appointed Marshall Keller as the assistant town attorney.
