    The Lady Bobcats lost a tough battle against number 3-ranked Worland Lady Warriors last week, 46-49. “The team played really well for stretches of the game,” head coach Matt McPhie said. “Give credit to Worland, they made some plays early in the game and sealed the victory late.” McKenna Bomengen led the team against Worland, scoring 13 points.     Bobcat wrestlers made an early morning trip to Greybull Saturday to compete in their one day tourney with 12 other teams including the returning 2A state champion Moorcroft Wolves. Still missing Remington Ferree from the lineup, and losing Cole Christenson to possible injury during the tournament, put the Bobcats at a disadvantage.     The Bobcat boys basketball team lost a tough one to the undefeated Worland Warriors last Friday in Worland, 47-86. “Without a doubt, it was a tough night for us and a lot of things didn’t go our way,” said head coach Shane Corpening. “We could have done a much better job playing team defense and rebounding the ball.” Corpening said those are two areas the team will be working on extensively at practice, moving forward.     Thermopolis Middle School students came home with a second place overall during the recent Mathcounts competition at North West College in Powell, qualifying them to advance to the state competition in Laramie in March.     Brad Basse, Sharon Skiver and other members of the Rotary Club presented $6,000 to John Gerrells and Jeff Strong of the Thermopolis VFW to help with much needed roof repairs on the building. Members of the VFW have been working to raise funds to fix the roof for some time now. Several community events are held at the VFW each year.     Cross country skiing enthusiasts in Hot Springs County no longer have to travel 75 miles or more to enjoy your favorite winter pastime. Lloyd Lafave and Tom Anderson put their heads together and created trails for cross country skiing at the Thermopolis Golf Course.
