    With the largest crowd in years looking on, Bobcat wrestlers created a memory no other Thermopolis wrestlers before them could do - they will be able to remember forever defeating the Douglas Bearcat mat men on the home mats. The dual started at the 152 weight class with Hunter Mounts moving up from his usual 145 pounds to take on Bearcat Ty Russel.     The Thermopolis Wrestling Club participated in the Buffalo Outlaw Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 27. In 6U of PeeWee) 32-34, Fletcher Lewis placed first and scored 19 team points.   • TMS students compete in book challenge

    The Challenge of the Books was held at the armory last Wednesday with students from Thermopolis Middle School taking fifth with their record and third with their points. Challenge of the Books is a contest for middle school students who love to read and they are expecting to host about seven other schools for the competition. A list of 12 books, which come from the Soaring Eagle and Indian Paintbrush nominee lists, are given to the children to read each August.     The 2019 season of the Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Basketball League got off to a strong start with three games on Wednesday, Jan. 23 This season, the league has five teams competing for the title — Properties West, Two Hills of a Cizzle, Hot Parts, Red Rock and Merit Energy. Properties West showed up on the court twice last Wednesday, with a 80-65 loss to Red Rock and a 79-59 win against Hot Parts.
